CSM Charles R. Wagenbrenner


CSM Wagenbrenner enlisted in the Army in October 1994.  He completed Basic Training at Ft Jackson, SC.  He completed Advanced Individual Training at Ft Eustis, VA where he was awarded the MOS 67U Medium Helicopter Repairer.  CSM Wagenbrenner has served in every enlisted leadership position in Aviation from Phase Team Leader to Command Sergeant Major.  His assignments include two tours at Camp Humphreys, Korea, two tours at Ft Campbell, KY, two tours Ft Eustis, VA, Ft Kobbe, Panama, Illesheim, Germany, Ft Bliss, TX, and two tours at Ft Drum, NY.  He served as 1SG for A Co 3-159 ATK, D Co 1-10 and CSM of TF Tigershark.  His previous leadership position was TF Falcon’s Senior Enlisted Advisor to Afghan Air Force and US Air Force, KAIA.  He has participated in combat operations in both Iraq and Afghanistan. 

CSM Wagenbrenner’s military education includes all NCOES from WLC to the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy (Class 63).  His additional military training includes the First Sergeant Course, numerous Survival Courses, Drill Sergeant School, Small Group Facilitators’ Course, Total Army Instructor Course, Basic instructor Course, and Air Assault School.

 CSM Wagenbrenner has a Bachelor of Science in Military Studies from Excelsior College and is currently working toward his Masters in Mental Health Counseling with emphasis in Trauma Studies from SUNY.

CSM Wagenbrenner’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal 2nd award, Meritorious Service Medal 4th award, Army Commendation Medal 5th award, Army Achievement Medal 4th award, Meritorious Unit Commendation 3rd award, Good Conduct Medal 6th award, the National Defense Service Medal w/bronze star, Korean Defense Service Medal, Kosovo Campaign Medal w/bronze star, Afghanistan Campaign Medal w/bronze star, Iraq Campaign Medal w/two bronze stars, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, NATO medal 2nd award, Overseas Ribbon 7th award and the NCO Professional Development Ribbon with numeral 4.  He also earned the Master Aircrew Member Badge, the Drill Sergeants Badge, Air Assault Badge; he is a recipient of the Bronze Medallion of the Order of Saint Michael, and is a Sergeant Audie Murphy Club Member.
