Command Sergeant Major Christopher A. Roche

CSM Roche joined the Army from Stafford, Virginia in March of 1995 and attended basic combat training at Fort Knox, Kentucky.  Following basic combat training, CSM Roche attended advanced individual training at Fort Eustis, Virginia where he earned the Aircraft Powerplant Repairer military occupational specialty.

CSM Roche’s assignments include Powerplant Mechanic, 1-2 Aviation Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division, Camp Page, South Korea; Powerplant Squad Leader, 2-227th Aviation Regiment, Fort Hood, Texas; Powerplant Squad Leader, 602D Aviation Support Battalion (ASB), Camp Stanley South Korea; Powerplant Senior Instructor/Branch NCOIC, Propulsion and Power Plant Division, USAALS, Fort Eustis, Virginia; Main Support Platoon Sergeant, 122nd ASB, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Detachment First Sergeant, Jalalabad Airfield Detachment, 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade (CAB), Afghanistan; First Sergeant 122nd ASB, 82nd CAB, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; First Sergeant A/2-82 Aviation Regiment, 82nd CAB, in Zabul Province, Afghanistan and Fort Bragg, NC; First Sergeant, Headquarters and Headquarters Troop, 1-17th Cavalry Regiment, 82nd CAB, in Jalalabad, Afghanistan and Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Support Operations Sergeant Major, 10th CAB, Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan; and is currently serving as the Command Sergeant Major for the 6th Squadron, 6th Cavalry Regiment, 10th CAB, Fort Drum, New York.

CSM Roche’s military education includes the Primary Leadership Development Course, Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course, Advanced Noncommissioned Officer Course, First Sergeant Course (Phase 1), Sergeants Major Course (Class 63), BN CSM Developmental Course, BN Pre Command Course, Basic Instructor/Writer Course, Senior Evaluator Course, Test Writer Course. CSM Roche holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from American Military University; and a Masters of Arts in Leadership Studies form University of Texas at El Paso.

His awards and decorations include Bronze Star (2nd award), Meritorious Service Medal (2nd award), Army Commendation Medal (7th award), Army Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal (6th award), National Defense Service Medal (One Bronze Service Star), Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal (Three Campaign Stars), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 4), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (Numeral 5), NATO Medal (5th award), Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Meritorious Unit Commendation (2nd award), Combat Action Badge, Senior Aviation Badge, and Driver’s Badge (Wheel and Track).  CSM Roche is also a member of the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club and is honored with the Order of Saint Michael (Bronze).
