CSM Mark E. Phillips, Sr.
CSM Phillips joined the Army on 1 August 1990. He completed Basic and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Jackson, SC, where he was awarded the MOS 71L, Administrative Specialist.
CSM Phillips’ previous assignments include Postal Clerk 139th Postal Company, Heidelberg, Germany; Administrative Specialist, HHB, 1-3 ADA Fort Carson, CO; Postal Clerk and Platoon Sergeant 175th Postal Co, Fort Lewis, WA; NCOIC Postal Operations Charlie Co, 516th Personnel Service Bn, Camp Henry, Korea; Platoon Sergeant and Senior Drill Sergeant Alpha Co, 3-10th IN, Fort Leonardwood, MO; NCOIC Transition Center, Assistant Inspector General, and Operations Sergeant, HHC 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, NY; Senior Human Resources Sergeant and First Sergeant, HHC, DSTB 1st Cavalry Division Fort Hood, TX ; Inspector General Sergeant Major, 7th Signal Command (Theater), Fort Gordon, GA; Command Sergeant Major of the 120th Adjutant General Battalion, Fort Jackson, SC and currently the Command Sergeant Major of 10th Special Troops Battalion, Fort Drum, NY. His awards and decorations include: the Bronze Star (2 OLC), the Meritorious Service Medal (4 OLC), the Joint Service Commendation Medal, the Army Commendation Medal (3 OLC), the Army Achievement Medal (4 OLC), the Good Conduct Ribbon (7th award), the National Defense Service Medal (one service star), the Korea Defense Service Medal, the Saudi and Kuwait Liberation Medal, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, the Iraqi Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary and Service Medal and the Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (numeral four), Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon (numeral three), the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, the United Nation Medal, and the Drill Sergeant Badge. CSM Phillip is a recipient of the prestigious Order of Horatio Gates (Bronze Medal) and Order of Saint Maurice.
