Command Sgt. Maj. James L. Manning, Jr.
CSM Manning entered the Army in Richmond, Virginia in February 1989. He attended One Station Unit Training at Fort Benning, Georgia as an Infantryman.
CSM Manning has served in the following leadership positions: Team leader, Squad leader, Platoon Sergeant, Assistant Operations Sergeant, First Sergeant, and Battalion Sergeant Major. He has also served as an Army Recruiter and Inspector General Sergeant Major. CSM Manning deployed to OIF III with the 1-25 Stryker Brigade.
CSM Manning military education include all levels of the Noncommissioned Officer Education System; additional courses attended include Air Assault School, Master Fitness School, Army Recruiter School, and Inspector General’s School.
CSM Manning holds a Bachelor Degree of Science from Excelsior College.
