Command Sgt. Maj. Mark D. BeldaCSM Mark D. Belda joined the Army in August of 1988 graduated from Basic Training at Fort Benning, GA.

During his 25 year career, Command Sergeant Major Belda served as a Battalion Command Sergeant Major, Operations Sergeant Major, First Sergeant, Platoon Sergeant, Senior Drill Sergeant, LRSC Team Leader, Rifle Squad Leader, Anti-Tank Section Sergeant, Rifle Team Leader, Saw Gunner, Grenadier, and Rifleman. Throughout his time in the Army participated in deployments to Somalia as a member of Task Force Ranger; three deployments to Iraq with the 101st Airborne Division in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom; one deployment with the 4th ID to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom; and he just returned from a deployment to Afghanistan as the Battalion CSM of 2-16 Infantry, 4th Brigade, 1st Infantry Division.

Command Sergeant Major Belda has been assigned to the following units: 3rd Battalion 75th Ranger Regiment in Fort Benning, Georgia, 18th Airborne Corps LRSC at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, 2nd Battalion 58th Infantry at Fort Benning, Georgia, 1st Battalion 502nd Infantry in Fort Campbell, 2nd Battalion 12th Infantry at Fort Carson, Colorado, and 2nd Battalion 16th Infantry at Fort Riley, Kansas before being selected to serve as the 1st Brigade, 10th Mountain Division Command Sergeant Major.

Command Sergeant Major Belda’s military and civilian education includes the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy, Ranger School, Airborne School, Air Assault School, Jumpmaster School, Drill Sergeant School, Pathfinder School,The U.S. Navy Scuba Divers Course, Master of Fitness Course,Warriors Leaders Course, Senior Leaders course, Advanced Leaders Course, Combat Lifesavers Course. He has completed an Associates Degree in Social Science with Troy University, a Bachelors Degree in Liberal Arts from Excelsior College (Magna Cum Laude), and has been accepted to the Masters program at the American Military University for Military History.

Command Sergeant Major Belda’s awards and decorations include the Ranger Tab, Drill Sergeant Badge, Expert Infantry Badge, Combat Infantry Badge(2nd Award), Master Parachutist Badge, Scuba Diver Badge, Pathfinder Badge, Air Assault Badge, Bronze Star Medal (V device and 5OLC), Meritorious Service Medal (2 OLC),Army Commendation Medal (2 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (3 OLC), Good Conduct Medal (8th Award), National Defense Service Medal (with Bronze Star Device) , Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Afghan Campaign Medal (2 stars), Iraqi Campaign Medal (4 stars),Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terror Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon  (with numeral 4), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (#4) NATO Medal (Afghanistan w/star) and has been awarded the Order of Saint Maurice(Centurion).
