B Co. Commander CPT Robert Reidel
Captain Robert Reidel was born in Lake Bluff, Illinois. Captain Reidel graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice in 2006. Upon graduation from Michigan State University, Captain Reidel attended the Infantry Officer Basic Course at Fort Benning, Georgia.
Upon graduation from the Infantry Officer Basic Course, then 2LT Reidel was assigned to 1st Battalion, 6th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division in Baumholder, Germany. Captain Reidel served as a Rifle Platoon Leader and Company Executive Officer in Charlie Company and the Battalion Scout Platoon Leader in Headquarters and Headquarters Company while assigned to 1-6 IN. In 2008, Captain Reidel deployed from Baumholder, Germany to the Sadr City neighborhood of Baghdad in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
In September of 2009, Captain Reidel attended the Maneuver Captains Career Course at Fort Knox, Kentucky. Upon graduation, Captain Reidel was assigned to 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division at Fort Drum, New York. Upon arrival at Fort Drum, Captain Reidel was assigned to the 2nd Brigade S3 shop, where he has served as a Brigade Battle Captain and the Training Section OIC.
Captain Reidel has earned the Meritorious Unit Award, the Bronze Star Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal with one bronze oak leaf cluster, the Iraq Campaign Medal with two Campaign Stars, the Overseas Service Medal with Bronze Numeral 2, and the Combat Infantryman Badge. He has graduated from Maneuver Captains Career Course, Infantry Officer Basic Course, US Army Ranger School, US Army Airborne Course, and the Mechanized Leader Course.
First Sergeant 1SG Juan Pena
First Sergeant Juan Pena enlisted in the Army in September 1990 and completed Basic Training and AIT as an Infantryman at Fort Benning, GA. 1SG Pena initially served as a Scout Observer in HHC and Fire Team Leader with 2d Battalion 87th Infantry, 10th Mountain Division. First Sergeant Pena served as a Airborne Rifle Squad Leader with 3d Battalion 503d Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82d Airborne Division. 1SG Pena was then assigned to 4th Ranger Training Battalion, Ranger Training Brigade as a Ranger Instructor. Following his assignment with 4th RTBn, 1SG Pena served as an Airborne Rifle Platoon Sergeant and Scout Platoon Sergeant with 2d Battalion (Airborne) 503d Infantry, 173d Airborne Brigade, Vicenza Italy. 1SG Pena was assigned to 6th Ranger Training Battalion, Ranger Training Brigade, Eglin Air Force Base, FL where he served as the A Co and HHC First Sergeant. First Sergeant Pena is currently serving as the B Co First Sergeant in 2d Battalion 14th Infantry Regiment, 2d Brigade Combat Team,10th Mountain Division.
1SG Pena’s military education includes: Warrior Leader’s Course, Advance Leader’s Course, Senior Leader’s Course and the USASMA First Sergeant’s Course. He has attended and graduated Airborne, Advanced Airborne School, Air Assault, Pathfinder, Ranger, Sniper, Jungle Warfare School, Tactics Certification Course, and the Army Basic Instructor Course.
Among his many awards and decorations are the Bronze Star Medal (2nd award), Meritorious Service Medal (3rd award), Army Commendation Medal with Valor, Army Commendation Medal (4th award), Army Achievement Medal ( 7th award), Army Good Conduct Medal (6th award), National Defense Service Medal (2nd award), Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War On Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War On Terrorism Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (3rd), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (3rd) Multi-National Forces and Observers Award, Army Superior Unit Award , Ranger Tab, Expert Infantryman's Badge, Combat Infantryman's Badge, Master Parachutist Badge, Pathfinder Badge, and Air Assault Badge.
