Captain insigniaC Co. Commander CPT Cesare Santarosa

Captain Cesare A. Santarosa was born in Buffalo, NY, but calls Rancho Palos Verdes, CA, a city near Los Angeles, home.  He graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science.  Captain Santarosa received his commission as a 2nd Lieutenant through ROTC in 2005 in the Infantry Branch.

Upon completion of Infantry Officer Basic Course, Airborne School and Ranger School, CPT Santarosa was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 21st Infantry Regiment at Fort Lewis, Washington, where he served as a Rifle Platoon Leader in 1st PLT B Co in March 2006.  Upon reflagging to the 2nd Stryker Cavalry Regiment, CPT Santarosa moved to Vilseck, Germany and served as a Rifle Platoon Leader in 1st PLT Eagle Co, 2nd Squadron until May 2007.   CPT Santarosa then served as an Anti-Armor Platoon Leader with 2nd Platoon, Killer Troop, Fires Squadron and deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom 07-09 in Baghdad, Iraq and Baqubah, Iraq.  Returning to Germany after deployment, in October 2008, CPT Santarosa attended the Maneuver Captains Career Course, in Fort Benning, GA and graduated in August 2009.  He was then assigned to 2nd Battalion, 14th Infantry Regiment where he just finished serving as the AS3/S3 Air.

CPT Santarosa’s awards and decorations include, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Iraqi Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon and the Overseas Service Ribbon.  He also has earned the Combat Infantryman Badge, Ranger Tab and Parachutist Badge.

Sergeant First Class Shawn Bowers was born in Mansfield, OH in January of 1974. He enlisted in the Army in September of 1997. He completed Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training as an Infantry Soldier as Fort Benning, GA.

He has served in nearly every enlisted position from Ammunition Bearer to 1SG, as an 11B. He served as a Ammo Bearer, Assistant Machine Gunner, Machine Gunner, and Radio Telephone Operator with Apache Company 1-501 PIR at Ft. Richardson, AK (172nd IN BDE); Infantry Team Leader and Squad Leader with Blackfoot Company 1-501 PIR at Ft. Richardson, AK (172nd IN BDE); Recruiter at the Columbus Recruiting BN with duty in Piqua, OH; Station Commander at the Columbus Recruiting BN with duty in Columbus, OH; Platoon Sergeant with A CO 2-14 IN at Ft. Drum, NY (10th Mountain Div); He is currently serving as the Company First Sergeant for Charlie Company 2-14 IN.

SFC Bowers's military education includes: The Primary Leadership and Development Course, Basic Noncommissioned Officers Course, Advanced Noncommissioned Officers Course. He has attended Airborne School, Pathfinder School, Air Assault School, The Army Basic and Advanced Mountaineering Course, the Army Recruiter Course and the Recruiting Station Commanders Course.

Among his many awards and decorations are: The Bronze Star Medal, The Army Achievement Medal (5th award), Army Recruiters Badge (Gold), Expert Infantryman's Badge, and the Combat Infantryman's Badge.
