CSM Ernest A. Warner
Command Sergeant Major Warner entered the Army in March 1990. He attended One Station Unit Training(OSUT), in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Upon completion of OSUT he was then assigned to 3rd Battalion, 17th Field Artillery, Ansbatch, Germany.
CSM Warner’s assignments include tours of duty with the 3rd BN, 17th Field artillery, 210th Brigade, Ansbatch Germany, 7th BN, 8th Field Artillery, Schofield Barracks HI, 2nd BN, 11th Field Artillery, Schofield Barracks HI, United States Army Noncommissioned Officers Academy, Schofield Barracks, HI, 1st BN, 40th Field Artillery USFATC, Fort Sill, OK, 3rd BN, 7th Field Artillery, Schofield Barracks, HI, 2nd BN, 8th Field Artillery, For Lewis, WA, 1st combined Arms Battalion(AETF), Fort Bliss, TX, 72nd Brigade Support Battalion, Fort Bliss, TX, and 212th Fires Brigade, Fort Bliss, TX. He served two tours in the Middle East in support of both Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom III.
CSM Warner has served in numerous duty positions to include Advance Party Man, Number One Man, Gunner, Ammunition Team Chief, Howitzer Section Chief, Gunnery Sergeant, Chief of Firing Battery, First Sergeant, Operations Sergeant Major and Battalion and Brigade Command Sergeant Major. His special duty assignments include: Small Group Leader WLC, Drill Sergeant, and Senior Drill Sergeant.
CSM Warner’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with 3 oak leaf clusters, Army Commendation Medal with 1 oak leaf cluster, Army Achievement Medal with 9 oak leaf clusters, Good Conduct Medal 6th Award, National Defense Service Medal with Bronze Star, Southwest Asia Medal with 3 Bronze Stars, NCOPD Medal with numerical four, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Saudi Arabia Liberation Medal, Kuwait Liberation Medal, and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal. His special skill Badges include: the Drill Sergeant Badge, Air Assault Badge, Drivers Badge, Combat Action Badge, and the Expert Basic Marksmanship Qualification Badge.
His Military service schools and civilian education includes: Field Artillery OSUT, Primary Leadership Development Course(Iron Leader,) Basic Noncommissioned Officers Course (with Honors,) Drill Sergeant School (with honors,) Instructor Training Course, Air Assault Course, Combat Lifesaver Course, Master Gunner’s Course and the Advanced Noncommissioned Officer’s Course. CSM Warner is a graduate of Class 58 United States Army Sergeant Majors Academy with honors. He currently holds an Associate Degree in Leadership from Hawaiian Pacific University, a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Studies from Excelsior College, and a Master’s Degree in Education from Northcentral University.
