4-31 Infantry

Welcome to the home page of the 4th Battalion, 31st Infantry Regiment. The 4-31 "Polar Bear" battalion is based out of Fort Drum, NY, home of the 10th Mountain Division. We are part of the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, the Commandos4-31 INF is a professional combat ready (disciplined, trained, and fit) team, that is led by example, supported by families in cohesive FRGs, and prepared to deploy on order to conduct combat and/or stability operations when, where, and with whoever ordered. The Polar Bear battalion has one priority READINESS.

4-31 INF is deeply tied to its Regimental roots and fosters relationships with veterans from WWII, Korea Era, Vietnam, OIF and OEF.

4-31 has a long and storied history, and is currently among the most deployed units in the Army. On this website, you will be able to find general information about our unit, history and news and pictures of the battalion’s Soldiers in action.
