Garrison Command Sergeant MajorCommand Sergeant Major Thomas W. Geddings entered active service on July 17th 1986.
Prior to arriving at Fort Drum Command Sergeant Major Geddings served as the Command Sergeant Major for the 579th Forward Engineer Support Detachment FEST-M in Vicksburg, MS.
Command Sergeant Major Geddings’ previous assignments include Bravo Company 16th Engineer, Furth Germany; Alpha Company 17th Engineer Battalion, FT Hood TX; Delta Company 8th Engineer Battalion, FT Hood TX; Charlie Company 2nd Engineer Battalion, Camp Castle Korea; Bravo Company 70th Engineer Battalion, FT Riley KS; Charlie Company 23rd Engineer Battalion Friedberg Germany; Charlie Company 16th Engineer Battalion, Giessen Germany; Bravo Company 1st Engineer Battalion, FT Riley KS; 3rd Brigade 85th Infantry Division TS, Indianapolis, IN; United States Army Sergeants Major Academy, FT Bliss, TX; Headquarters 1st Armored Division, Wiesbaden, Germany; Command Sergeant Major for the 2d Engineer Battalion White Sands Missile Range, NM.

Command Sergeant Major Geddings’ duties have included all leadership positions from Team Leader to Command Sergeant Major.  While performing these duties CSM Geddings has participated in numerous Operational deployments.  These deployments include Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm, Implementation Force (IFOR) Bosnia, Stabilization Force (SFOR) Bosnia, Operation Desert Spring Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.

Command Sergeant Major Geddings is a graduate of every NCOES school from Primary Leadership Development Course to the United States Army Sergeant’s Major Academy (Class 55) graduating in the top 10 percent of the class.  CSM Geddings is also a graduate of the First Sergeants Course, Equal Opportunity Leaders Course, Hazardous Materials Transportation Course and Safety Officer Course.  CSM Geddings is a graduate of American Military University attaining a Bachelors Degree in Homeland Security, Terrorism and Counter Terrorism with Honors.

Command Sergeant Major Geddings awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal 2nd award, Meritorious Service Medal 3rd award Army Commendation Medal 8th award, Army Achievement Medal 3rd award,  Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Navy Unit Commendation, Army Superior Unit Award, Good Conduct Medal 8th award, National Defense Service Medal 2nd award, Korean Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal 3rd award, South West Asia Service Medal with 3 bronze stars, Iraqi Campaign Medal 1 bronze star, Afghanistan Campaign Medal 1 bronze star, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon with numeral 4, Overseas Service Ribbon numeral 8, Kuwait Liberation Medal (Saudi Arabia) Kuwait Liberation Medal (Kuwait), NATO Medal with 2 bronze stars, NATO Medal ISAF and Combat Action Badge. CSM Geddings has also been awarded the Bronze Order of DeFleury and is a member of the prestigious Sergeant Audie Murphy club.
