Internal Review is an independent, objective assurance, and consulting activity within command designated to add value and improve the command’s operations. The objective of IMCOM’s IR program is to provide the Commanding General, Region Directors, Garrison Commanders and their staffs with a full range of professional internal review services that are timely, support local decision makers, and ensure effective stewardship of funds. IR is a split service and provides audit services to all Army tenants that don’t have IR services. Internal Review offices’ highest priority is to support Army Audit Readiness efforts. Internal Review is the liaison between all external Audit Agencies, Department of Defense Inspector General (DoDIG), Army Audit Agency (AAA), the Government Accountability Office (GAO), MACOM and Mission Commanders (those without direct funded IR offices) IMCOM Directors and their staff, ACSIM, ASA(FM&C) and Congress. Internal Review provides audit services to include performance type audits, researching and responding to technical questions, providing advice on an accounting matter, providing advice on routine business matters/processes, and educating the entity on matters for which auditors have technical expertise such as internal controls. Internal Review maintains the fraud, waste, and abuse hotline.

Internal Review serves as a special staff element to the Command Group.
