All family members who accompany their sponsor to an overseas assignment in a foreign country, must apply for a No-Fee passport.

Why can't I use my tourist passport?

Tourist passports do not provide protection for the family member(s) under the Status of Forces Agreement, nor do they allow family member(s) to live in the country.

What do I need to bring with me?

**Dependent spouses, parents and children 14 and older: MUST BE PRESENT AT APPOINTMENT.

  1. ID Card
  2. Birth Certificate
  3. Old Passport if available (these can be used in lieu of birth certificates for adults
  4. Two (2) Passport pictures
  5. Copy of sponsor's orders (if printed)

**Dependent children under 14: MUST BE PRESENT AT APPOINTMENT.

    Biological to both parents:
    1. Social Security Card
    2. Birth Certificate (must be original & have raised seal issued county or state where born)
    3. Two (2) Passport pictures

    Blended Family:

    1. Same as above PLUS:
    2. Divorce decree / custody agreement
    3. Adoption papers or legal name change documents

    ** If BOTH Parents cannot be present for the appointment or sole custody / adoption has not been established, "A Letter Of Consent" MUST be signed and notarized by the absent parent.**

    Where do I get my pictures taken?

    TASC, P-1029, Passport pictures on a walk-in basis:  Monday - Friday 0730 - 1115 & 1230 - 1515. It takes approximately 10 - 15 minutes.  Pictures will then be given to you.

    **Children 12 months and younger require an appointment. Only done on Fridays.  Call 315-772-5214 to schedule an appointment

    What are the picture requirements?

    • Must have been taken within the last 6 months.  They must be identical which represent a good likeness of the applicant.  Passport photos may be color or black and white, taken in normal street attire, without a hat or dark lens glasses.  Uniforms, work clothing, T-shires, and multi colored sports shirts are unacceptable.  Preferably a shirt with a collar.

    • Must be 2" X 2", with the face of the picture not more than 1" - 1 3/8" from top of face to chin.

    How long does it take to get a passport?

    It takes approximately 6 - 8 weeks to receive passports from the State Department.
