Mission Statement

To provide quality service regarding benefits, entitlements, information and referral to Retirees, their Family as well as active duty Soldiers and their Family preparing for retirement. The Retirement Services Office also publishes the Fort Drum Retired Army Newsletter; advises and supports the Fort Drum Retiree Council, develops public support of Army programs and informs the retired community of upcoming events of interest.

Soldier For Life - Retiremnt Services Office

 

 Fort Drum Medical Pre-Retirement/SBP Briefing (MANDATORY)

This brief is MANDATORY for all MEDICALLY RETIRING SOLDIERS to complete the clearing process. You DO NOT need retirement orders to attend this breifing! If you are entering the MEB process check with your PEBLO and ask them if they recommend you to attend. 

*Medical Pre-Retirement briefings will be conducted every 2nd and 4th Wednesday  of each month (minus federal holidays), from 1300-1600, at CLARK HALL, Room C1-33A. You DO NOT need orders to attend. Recommend attendance 180 DAYS from projected medical release.

**The RSO provides these briefings to those in the medical evaluation board process separately for the convenience of Soldiers and their Families to help accommodate already full schedules with other appointments.

***If you would prefer the full schedule briefing you are more than welcome to attend one of those scheduled below. 

 

 

 Fort Drum Longevity (20 years or more of AFS) Pre-Retirement/SBP Briefing (MANDATORY)

This brief is mandatory for all active duty Soldiers to complete the clearing process. You must attend one of these briefings and insure your attendance is documented by the Retirement Services Office. Certain mandatory paperwork must be completed by the Soldier and any respective Spouse prior to completing the clearing process.  Failure to attend may slow or stop your out processing.
