News Announcement / Brief


News announcements should be written in paragraph form. At a minimum, they should answer the questions "who, what, when, where and why." They should include such information as the organization hosting the event, who may attend, age requirements, the cost of admission (if any), the deadline to register, and any other pertinent instructions. They should also provide a point of contact with a telephone number and/or e-mail address for more information.

The deadline for news submissions is noon Friday for consideration in the following Thursday's publication. (National holidays require an early deadline, which will be announced.) Submission by the deadline does not guarantee placement in the newspaper. Priority is given to those events taking place on Fort Drum or which directly affect the military community.
