CARTHAGE – Officials with the Carthage Area Chamber of Commerce invite members of the public to attend the Twin Villages Christmas Weekend, which will take place Friday and Saturday.
The annual Holiday Parade will begin at 6 p.m. Friday on Church Street and end at Riverbend Park just off South Main Street.
Immediately following the parade, there will be a tree lighting and concert at the West Carthage Gazebo and fireworks over the Black River.
On Saturday will be the Twin Villages Christmas Festival, beginning with Breakfast with Santa from 8 to 10 a.m. at the Carthage American Legion. Cost is $10 per child, which includes meal and a gift.
At 10 a.m., the Jingle Bell Run will get underway at Augustinian Academy, followed by a meet and greet with the Watertown Wolves from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Carthage Elks Lodge. Other activities include a scavenger hunt, gingerbread house decorating, and a memory tree lighting and ceremony at 6:30 p.m. on State Street.
After the tree lighting, the First Baptist Church of Carthage, located at 511 State St., will host a free movie night with hot chocolate and sugar cookies at 7:30 p.m. The movie features a favorite Christmas train! Everyone is welcome.
All events and activities are free, and the public is invited to participate.
