College students will present ‘Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde’

WATERTOWN – The Dionysian Players of Jefferson Community College are rehearsing for their upcoming performance of “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.” Performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. May 13 and 14 in the Robert R. and Jean S. Sturtz Theater on campus.

The stage performance of “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” is based on the novel written by author Robert Louis Stevenson. Published in 1886, Stevenson created a character who battled with a disorder now known as split personality. The friendly and outgoing Dr. Jekyll is investigated by his lawyer friend after strange occurrences take place when Mr. Hyde, a mysterious and violent man, enters the scene. Eventually, Mr. Hyde gains power over Dr. Jekyll and the battle between good and evil ensues.

The Dionysian Players is a Jefferson student club for those with an interest in theater and performing arts.

Ticket prices are $5 for general admission and free for JCC students who present their college ID. Tickets can be purchased at the Student Activities Center, McVean Student Center (Room 4-100) or by calling 786-2431.
