USO Fort Drum plans free events in Watertown

USO Fort Drum

The USO Fort Drum would like to invite members of the post community to two free events taking place June 3 in Watertown.

USO Fort Drum and BAE Systems will team up to present a Military Appreciation Roller Skating Party from 3 to 7 p.m. June 3. This event is free to active-duty service members and their Families. Simply show military ID for admittance to Showtime Skating Rink in Northland Plaza at 144 Eastern Blvd., Watertown.

Active-duty service members and their Families may enjoy free skating, pizza, soda, ice cream and a special visit from WPBS character Curious George.

Meanwhile, USO Fort Drum and Family Counseling Services of NNY will present a Touch-A-Truck event from 3 to 7 p.m. June 3 in the Northland Plaza parking lot at 144 Eastern Blvd, Watertown. The event is open to kids of all ages, including adults.

Vehicles of all shapes and sizes will be parked so that kids can see and "touch" them to learn more about the vehicles and possible career tips. Vehicles include emergency responders, construction, race cars, classic cars, a school bus and more.

USO Fort Drum and Family Counseling Services of NNY want to provide a family-friendly fun event for the community.

Admission is free, but proceeds from concessions sales will benefit the USO Fort Drum and the Family Counseling Services of NNY.
