Hard rock band Halestorm will perform in Watertown

WATERTOWN – The Jefferson Community College Campus Activities Board has announced hard rock and heavy metal band Halestorm will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, in McVean Gymnasium on campus. Ticket sales will begin this month.
In February, Halestorm won its first Grammy Award in the Best Hard Rock / Metal Performance category for a song titled “Love Bites (So Do I)” from the 2012 released album, “The Strange Case Of …”
Halestorm was chosen for the Grammy Award above longtime standing heavy metal bands such as Megadeth, Marilyn Manson and Anthrax.
Halestorm lead singer Lzzy Hale made history by being the first woman in the hard rock / metal category to earn a Grammy Award. Members of the Pennsylvania-based band include siblings Arejay and Lzzy Hale, Joe Hottinger and Josh Smith.
The group released two other albums in 2012: “Hello It’s Mz Hyde” and “ReAniMate.”
Touring extensively, Halestorm has performed as many as 250 shows in a single year with acts like Papa Roach, Chevelle, Evanescence, Theory of a Deadman, Seether and Three Days Grace.
Concert tickets will go on sale for JCC students at noon Friday, Sept. 6. The general public will be able to purchase tickets beginning Friday, Sept. 13.
All seating is general admission, and tickets cost $35. JCC students who pay the college student life fee and present SUNY ID may buy one ticket at a reduced price of $20 in person at the JCC Student Activities office, Room 4-100.
