For individuals looking for spooky entertainment this month, Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation has several offerings.
The Hearts Apart, Self and International Spouses Groups plan a day of Harvest and Halloween fun from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, with pumpkin picking, a potluck lunch and Zombie Zumba. Join Spouse to Spouse Group from 1 to 3 p.m. Oct. 23 at the Monument Ridge Community Center for pumpkin painting and carving. Bring your own pumpkin to participate. The Haunted Hayride at Remington Park will take place from 6 to 10 p.m. Oct. 25. Parental discretion is advised for some of the evening’s offerings. Children 12 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. For more information, call 772-8222.
Children who are registered with CYSS School Age Center are invited to a Halloween Party from noon to 4 p.m. Oct. 26. Those who dress up can compete in the costume contest. There also will be refreshments, games, music and crafts. For more information, call 772-4411.
A Teen Halloween Costume Ball is planned from 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 31 at the Fort Drum Youth Center. Teens in grades 6-12 are invited to enjoy a live performance, compete in a costume contest, and enjoy piñatas, tasty treats and more. Cost is $3 for YC members and $5 for nonmembers.
