More than 150 Soldiers and Civilians gathered Friday in front of Magrath Gym to take part in a 10th Mountain Division (LI) Climb to Glory Fellowship 5K Run.

On the crisp cold morning, Chaplain (Lt. Col.) Tony Petros, 10th Mountain Division (LI) chaplain, welcomed all those who attended the fellowship run. In his remarks, he told everyone to have fun.

“Thank you for showing up and joining us on today’s run,” Petros said. “I want to make sure everyone has fun, and thank you for supporting the division’s ministry team.”

As runners passed the finish line, each received a T-shirt with the 10th Mountain Division (LI) crest. Runners were offered refreshments that the Chaplain’s Office provided for the event.

The first three males and females who finished the run each received a chaplain’s coin and a certificate signed by Petros, thanking them for participating in the Climb to Glory Fellowship 5K Run.

“I like to run, and when there is a good reason to run, it always makes it better,” said Elliott Megquier, a member of 210th Brigade Support Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team. “I try my hardest whenever I show up for these types of events.”

The first three males to finish the run in order were Megquier, Luke Willemburg and Seth Fields. The first three females to finish were Maryjoy Guy, Claudia Smallman and Lucinda Bary.
