Exceptional Kidz Rehabilitation release
Exceptional Family Members at Fort Drum may enjoy a day of fun and education from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Fort Drum Bowling Center, courtesy of Army Community Service’s Exceptional Family Member Program, Exceptional Kidz Rehabilitation and Healthnet Federal Services.
Exceptional Kidz Rehabilitation is an out-patient pediatric rehabilitation center that offers physical, occupational and speech and behavioral therapy services to military children experiencing developmental delays in the areas of physical function, fine motor, sensory integration, feeding, speech, communication, cognition and behaviors as they relate to complications associated with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
EKR is committed to offering a continuum of care to children in close proximity to the military installation in order to ensure these children have an opportunity for a bright and promising future. The founders’ vision is to have offices on or in close proximity to bases throughout the country to assure continuum of care despite relocation. Fort Drum is the second location offering these services, with Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J., being the first of its kind.
This free event will provide Families with an afternoon of bowling, face painting, food and music to bring awareness of EKR’s services, while also saying “thank you” to these Families for their service and sacrifice to the nation.
Reservations can be made for military Families enrolled in the Exceptional Family Member Program or military Families with children who require any of the services described above. A limited number of spaces are available. For reservations, call 772-0819 or 772-0664.
