New parents may gain knowledge at Baby Palooza

Bringing a new life into the world is an exhilarating experience, but often new parents could use a few pointers. The Family Advocacy Program at Fort Drum Army Community Service has many programs available to assist new parents in learning to care for their new Family Member. The FAP staff is pleased to present the popular Baby Palooza for the second year from 9 a.m. to noon April 23 at the Youth Center on Chapel Drive.
Baby Palooza is an expo-type event to offer assistance to new parents, grandparent and caregivers of children who are newborn to 1 year old. This event will feature a physician answering health care questions as well as mini workshops and education sessions on infant bathing, breastfeeding, child development checks, jogging and exercising with baby, and how to calm a fussy baby.
Activities and demonstrations will focus on car seat safety checks, taking pictures of your newborn, nutrition, infant massage, Zumbini, and reading and playing with your infant.
Drawings and giveaways will be offered, and the first 100 registrants will receive a mini baby bundle gift bag. Registration is strongly encouraged by calling the Family Advocacy Program at 772-5914.
