Fort Drum to Dedicate new Fire Station

 

Fort Drum, NY - Fort Drum will dedicate Fire Station 2 in honor of Garrett W. Loomis on July 26 at 1 p.m.

 

Garrett W. Loomis was a full-time employee of the Fort Drum Fire Department and an assistant fire chief with Sackets Harbor Volunteer Fire Department. In his volunteer capacity, he responded to a burning silo on a dairy farm in April 2010 and died in the course of fighting that fire.

 

The new $6.7 million dollar state-of-the-art fire station will be known as the Garrett W. Loomis Fire Station 2. The facility will house fire and emergency vehicles, the fire prevention office and the fire department training division.
