Fort Drum and 10th Mountain Division Commemorates 10th Anniversary of  9-11 Attacks

 

FORT DRUM, NY - Fort Drum and the 10th Mountain Division will mark the tenth anniversary of the 9-11 attacks with a wreath laying ceremony at the 9-11 memorial at Clark Hall, Sunday September 11th. The ceremony will honor those who lost their lives that day and since then in the global war on terrorism.

 

The Fort Drum 9-11 Memorial contains pieces of steel and stone from the ruins of the World Trade Center Twin Towers. Moments of silence will be observed at 8:46, 9:02, 9:37 and 10:03 a.m. The times will mark the impacts at Towers 1 and 2, the west side of the Pentagon and the crash site in Pennsylvania.



Media interested in covering the ceremony should be at the Media Operations Center on Route 26 no later than 8:00 a.m.  An RSVP is requested by Friday September 9th  no later than 3:30 p.m.
