10th Mountain Division Soldier dies in accident

 

Fort Drum, NY - Private Michael S. Koepfle, age 35, of San Bernardino, California, was killed, and two other Soldiers were injured, in a military vehicle accident on post Sunday, October 23.

 

All three were training as members of the 543rd Quartermaster Company, 548th Combat Service Support Battalion, 10th Sustainment Brigade, 10th Mountain Division.

Koepfle, a supply clerk, joined the Army in October 2010. After training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri and Fort Lee, Virginia he arrived at Fort Drum, New York in October 2011.

 

Koepfle's awards and decorations include the National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and the Army

Service Ribbon.
