10th Mountain Division Soldier killed in Afghanistan

 

Fort Drum, NY - A 10th Mountain Division Soldier died from combat related injuries in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan, Monday, October 10.  The circumstances surrounding his death are currently under investigation.

 

Killed is Sergeant Nathan L. Wyrick, age 34, of Enumclaw, Washington.

Fort Drum, NY - A 10th Mountain Division Soldier died Wednesday September 28 in Landstuhl, Germany, of injuries sustained on September 27 in Logar, Afghanistan when insurgents attacked his unit using indirect fire.

Welcome Home Ceremonies for Returning Troops

 

Fort Drum, NY - Welcome home ceremonies were held for a total of 340 Soldiers returning from Afghanistan. 140 Soldiers with the Combat Aviation Brigade returned late Thursday September 29, another 170 Soldiers with the 10th Mountain Division Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion returned Saturday October 1 and 30 Soldiers with the 10th Mountain Division Headquarters and Headquarters

Battalion returned Sunday October 2.

Fort Drum, NY - Two OH-58D pilots with Task Force Tigershark, 1st Battalion, 10th Aviation Regiment, 10th Combat Aviation Brigade, 10th Mountain Division, were killed in Khost province, Afghanistan, Sunday, June 5, when their

aircraft crashed. The cause of the incident is under investigation.
