Spc. Keri Reeves, of the 1/10th Mtn. Div.s F Company, 10th Brigade Support Battalion, which is assigned to the Forward Support Company for 1-87 Inf., pulls security next to a military vehicle while on patrol in the Kirkuk area of northern Iraq. Reeves has been aiding the 1-87 Inf. Scout Soldiers on many of their combat missions.
Soldiers often have to search personnel for weapons or evidence of terrorist activity as they conduct combat operations, but male Soldiers are not allowed to search females; therefore, female Soldiers must accompany the Scouts on their missions.
