Stray animals found on Ft. Drum are held for three days at the Stray Animal Facility. To claim your pet, please call Pest Control at 772-2072 during business hours. Animals not claimed within 3 days of their apprehension are transferred to the SPCA in Watertown.

In accordance with Ft. Drum Garrison Animal Policy, all animals on Ft. Drum must have an electronic microchip encoded with the owner's information. If your animal does not have a microchip, it is mandatory they are micro chipped before being returned to their owner.

Proof of a current rabies vaccination is also required for pets residing on Fort Drum. If the owner is unable to provide a valid Rabies Certificate, an appointment will be scheduled at the time of release. Fees will be assessed accordingly.
