MEDIA ADVISORY: 10th Mountain Division Soldiers work to help sick Iraqi girl
FORT DRUM - 10th Mountain Division Soldiers in Iraq are working to get medical care for a sick Iraqi girl found during a patrol by Georgia Army National Guard Soldiers attached to 2nd Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment.
Noor, an Iraqi baby girl who suffers from spina bifida, was encountered by members of Company C, 1st Battalion, 21st Infantry Regiment in the Abu Ghraib neighborhood of Baghdad. While waiting for the possibility of surgery in Atlanta, Noor is receiving medical care from the 10th Mountain Division’s 1st Battalion, 87th Infantry Regiment’s battalion surgeon.
Noor and her family are tentatively scheduled to leave Iraq Saturday.
