Command Sergeant Major Charles W. Albertson enlisted in the Army on 19 February 1992, completed Basic Training, Infantry AIT, Airborne School, and the Ranger Indoctrination Program. He was then assigned to 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Hunter Army Airfield, Georgia.

CSM Albertson’s duty positions and assignments include: Bravo Company, 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment Hunter Army Airfield, Georgia where he served as a company Rifleman, up to Weapons Squad Leader; Headquarters, 75th Ranger Regiment, Fort Benning, Georgia as the Regimental Air NCO; Bravo Company, 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Fort Lewis, Washington as a Rifle Platoon Sergeant; 75th Ranger Regiment Human Resource Command Liaison, Alexandria, Virginia; First Sergeant Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Hunter Army Airfield, Georgia; 1st Battalion 26th Infantry, 3rd BDE, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Knox, Kentucky as the Battalion Operations Sergeant Major; Command Sergeant Major of 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Hunter Army Airfield, Georgia; Regimental Command Sergeant Major, 75th Ranger Regiment, Hunter Army Airfield, Georgia. In the 75th Ranger Regiment, he served on 14 combat tours, and one combat tour with 1st Battalion, 26 Infantry Regiment, totaling 52 months deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan.

CSM Albertson has completed all required levels of the Noncommissioned Officer Education System including the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy. His military schools include Airborne, Ranger, Combatives Level-1, Jumpmaster, Pathfinder, Special Operations and Tactics (S.O.T), Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape (S.E.R.E Level-C), and Emergency Medical Technician-Basic.

CSM Albertson’s awards and decorations include one Legion of Merit, a Bronze Star for Valor, six Bronze Stars, a Defense Meritorious Service Medal, five Meritorious Service Medals, a Joint Commendation Medal for Valor, a Joint Commendation Medal, seven Army Commendation Medals, a Navy Commendation Medal, four Army Achievement Medals, the Combat Infantryman’s Badge, the Expert Infantryman’s Badge, Ranger Tab, Master Parachutist Badge, Pathfinder Badge and is a member of the Order of Saint Maurice.
